‘Study in Egypt’ Participates in the Activities of the Khartoum International Exhibition
Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, reviewed a report submitted by Dr. Rasha Kamal, Acting President of the Central Administration for Foreign Student Affairs, on the participation of the "Study in Egypt" initiative in the activities of the 38th edition of the Khartoum International Exhibition, which was held in the Sudanese capital, Khartoum from 21 to 28 January 2021 and in which 14 countries participated including Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Indonesia, India, Pakistan, Nigeria, Uganda, Ethiopia, Kenya, as well as Egypt, the guest of honor of the exhibition.
Dr. Rasha Kamal, Acting President of the Central Administration for Foreign Student Affairs, stated that the initiative demonstrated the privileges it offers to foreign students wishing to study in Egypt in general, and Sudanese students in particular, whose tuition fees were decided to be deducted to 90%, in addition to offering 30 scholarships to postgraduate students wishing to obtain a doctorate degree.
On the sidelines of the exhibition activities, representatives of the Study in Egypt initiative met Dr. Intisar Saghiroun, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research in the Republic of Sudan. The meeting discussed the file of higher education in both countries, in addition to the privileges the initiative offers to Sudanese students studying in Egypt, as well as the widening of the scope of cooperation in the field of Higher education and scientific research between the two countries in the future.
At the end of the exhibition activities, a certificate of appreciation was awarded by the Khartoum International Exhibition management to the Study in Egypt initiative for positive participation in the activities of the 38th edition.
It is noteworthy that in light of the presidential directives to upgrade the foreign student system and publicize the facilities of Egyptian universities in order to attract foreign students to study in Egypt, the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research has taken many measures to launch the "Study in Egypt" application to help students wishing to study in Egypt from all over the world to be acquainted with educational institutions. The application includes data of all higher education institutions accredited by the ministry: state, private or community universities, international branch campuses, technological colleges/institutes and higher institutes
