Minister of Higher Education Holds a Meeting with the New President of the American University

Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, minister of Higher Education and scientific research, held a meeting on Saturday morning with Dr. Ahmed El-Dalal, the new president of the American University, at the private education building in New Cairo.

The minister welcomed the selection by the Board of Trustees of the American university of Dr. Ahmed El-Dalal as the new president of the university, and looked forward to further cooperation in the coming period.

Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar has emphasized that cooperation with the American University is long-established, pointing out the depth of Egyptian-American relations and the strong friendship between the two countries throughout history.

The meeting reviewed aspects of bilateral cooperation between the Ministry of Higher education and Scientific Research and the American University in Cairo, noting the ministry's interest in the continued cooperation between Egyptian educational institutions and the American University in Cairo due to the important role played by the University in the service of Egyptian society at the Educational and research levels.

On his part, Dr. Ahmed El-Dalal welcomed the increased cooperation between the university and Egyptian educational institutions, noting the university's commitment to continuing offering educational opportunities and scholarships to talented students  and increasing cultural and scientific cooperation.

The meeting was attended by Mr. Mark Turning, chairman of the Board of Trustees of the American university, Dr. Ehab Abdel Rahman, Academic president of the University, Dr. Ashraf Hatem, Advisor to the American University.

It is worth noting that Dr. Ahmed El-Dalal is the thirteenth president of the American University in Cairo. He has taught in the American University in Beirut, Stanford University, Yale University, smith college and Georgetown University. He also has considerable experience in Higher education in the United States of America and the Arab world, and has numerous books, articles, books and outstanding scientific publication.
